VESTEL Oven Turning Off Randomly? Causes and Fix Guide

If your VESTEL oven keeps shutting off while in use, it can be frustrating and unreliable.

It may begin heating as expected, then suddenly stop partway through cooking.

This is a common issue and usually indicates a problem with how electrical power is being delivered inside the oven.

What could be causing this?

1. Faulty selector switch

The selector switch controls the oven functions. When it wears out, internal contacts may fail intermittently, causing the oven to cut out unexpectedly.

👉 Typical signs:

  • The oven switches off during cooking
  • It works again after adjusting the dial
  • The issue becomes more frequent over time

On Vestel ovens — which also cover models sold under the Bush, Montpellier and Swan brands — the selector switch contacts are a known weak point. As the switch ages, the contacts can lose connection intermittently under heat and electrical load, causing the oven to shut off during cooking and occasionally recover when the knob is repositioned.

2. Loose internal connections

Loose or worn connections inside the oven can interrupt the power supply and cause sudden shut-offs.

3. Control or thermostat fault

A faulty temperature control component can also lead to unstable behaviour and unexpected shutdowns.

If your VESTEL oven behaves like this, it’s very likely that one of these components needs replacing.
