If your VESTEL oven looks like it’s working — the fan is running and the light is on — but there’s no heat, it can be very frustrating.
You leave it on, expect it to warm up… but it stays completely cold.
This is a common issue with Vestel ovens, and the good news is that it’s often fixable without replacing the whole appliance.
So what could be causing it?
1. Faulty selector switch
This component controls how power is distributed inside the oven. If it fails, the oven may appear to be working, but the heating elements won’t receive power.
👉 Often the issue if:
- The oven works in some modes but not others
- The grill still works but the main oven doesn’t
- The issue comes and goes
On Vestel ovens — including models sold under the Bush, Montpellier and Swan brands — the fan running with no heat is a common presentation of a failed selector switch contact. The switch stops routing power to the heating element while the fan and indicator light continue working, making the fault easy to misdiagnose as an element failure.
2. Broken heating element
This is the part that generates heat inside the oven.
👉 More likely if:
- The oven stays cold in every setting
- You noticed weaker heating before it stopped
- Sometimes visible damage or no glow
3. Thermostat issue
The thermostat controls the temperature inside the oven.
👉 More likely if:
- The oven heats but not properly
- Food cooks unevenly or stays underdone
- The temperature fluctuates
If this sounds like your situation, it’s very likely that one of these parts needs replacing.
