HAIER Oven Grill Works But Oven Won’t Heat? Fix Guide

It’s a frustrating problem. Your HAIER oven grill is working, but the main oven isn’t heating up at all.

You try different cooking modes, but only some of them seem to function correctly.

This usually indicates an issue with how electrical power is being directed inside the oven.

What’s usually causing this?

1. Faulty selector switch

The selector switch controls which cooking function is active. Each setting uses separate internal electrical contacts.

If part of the switch fails, some functions may continue working while others stop completely.

👉 Common signs:

  • The grill works but the oven doesn’t heat
  • Some modes operate, others don’t
  • Only certain functions are affected

On Haier ovens, the selector switch is mounted behind the front fascia and accessed by removing the control knob. Because Haier's oven range includes models built on shared platforms, selector switch contact failure is a consistent fault across multiple product lines — the oven function contacts carry a higher electrical load than the grill contacts, making them the first to degrade when the switch ages or is switched under load.

2. Heating element issue

If the main oven isn’t heating, the fan or lower element may be faulty. This is another common cause.

3. Internal wiring fault

Loose or damaged wiring can prevent certain parts of the oven from receiving power, leading to partial operation.

If your HAIER oven behaves like this, it’s very likely that one of these components needs replacing.
