It’s a very common issue. Your ELECTROLUX oven may look like it’s running — the fan is spinning and the light is on — but there’s no heat at all.
You leave it on, expecting it to heat up… but it stays completely cold.
This problem is quite typical with ELECTROLUX ovens, and in many cases it can be fixed without replacing the whole appliance.
So what could be causing it?
1. Faulty selector switch
This part controls how power is distributed inside the oven. If it fails, the oven can appear to be working, but the heating elements won’t receive power.
👉 Often the issue if:
- The oven works in some settings but not others
- The grill still works but the main oven doesn’t
- The issue is inconsistent or intermittent
On Electrolux ovens, models such as the EOB976 and EOB63000X are documented with exactly this fault — the fan runs, the thermostat light comes on, but no heat is produced. This pattern points directly to failed oven contacts on the selector switch, which stops routing power to the element while leaving all other functions working normally.
2. Broken heating element
This is the component that generates heat inside the oven.
👉 More likely if:
- The oven does not heat at all in any function
- You noticed weaker heating before it stopped
- Sometimes visible damage or no glow
3. Thermostat issue
The thermostat controls and maintains the oven temperature.
👉 More likely if:
- The oven heats but not properly
- Food comes out uneven or undercooked
- The temperature fluctuates
If any of these situations apply to you, it’s very likely that one of these parts needs replacing.
