It’s a common and frustrating issue. Your ELBA oven grill is working, but the main oven isn’t heating up.
You switch between functions, yet only some of them seem to respond properly.
This usually points to a problem with how electricity is being distributed to different parts of the oven.
What’s usually causing this?
1. Faulty selector switch
The selector switch controls the oven’s different cooking modes. Each function depends on separate internal contacts.
If one section of the switch fails, some functions may still work while others stop completely.
👉 Common signs:
- The grill works but the oven doesn’t heat
- Some settings operate normally, others don’t
- Only certain functions are affected
On Elba ovens — which share components and design with DeLonghi and CDA appliances — the selector switch is located behind the control panel and controls which element receives power. A failed contact on the oven setting while the grill contact remains functional is a recognised fault pattern on these ovens, typically caused by the higher current demand of the main oven element degrading the switch contacts over time.
2. Heating element fault
If the main oven isn’t heating, the fan or lower heating element may be faulty. This is another common cause to consider.
3. Internal wiring issue
Damaged or loose wiring can prevent certain parts of the oven from receiving power, causing partial operation.
If your ELBA oven behaves like this, it’s very likely that one of these components needs replacing.
